Question: How do I set up a new project in Privv?
Answer: To set up a new project in Privv, please follow the steps below.
- Click the + New button in the top right corner of the Projects page. This will open a pop-up window.
- Fill in the appropriate information about the project.
- Click the green check mark at the top right of the pop-up window.
- The new project will now be visible on the Projects page. Click on it to go to your new project.

Question: How do I set up a new user?
Answer: To set up a new user in Privv, please follow the steps below.
- Click on Our Team in the navigation bar on the left. This page shows all the users that are a part of your team or within your company.
- Click the + New button in the top right corner of the page. This will open a pop-up window.
- Fill in the appropriate information about the new user.
- Assign the new user the appropriate role.
- The Admin role gives the user access to all projects within the company and the ability to add new users, projects, clients and vendors.
- The Manager role will NOT be able to invite or add company users to Privv.
- Click the green check mark at the top right of the pop-up window.
- An invitation email will send to the email address you provided for the user with a link for the user to set up their account and password.
Note: Only users with the Admin role may add new users. To switch to the Admin role, contact your company Privv administrator.
Question: How do I assign a user to a project?
Answer: To add an existing user to a new project, please follow the steps below.
- Go to the Projects page.
- Select the project you want to add the user to.
- Click People on the left sidebar.
- Expand the dropdown for your company or your client/department.
- Click the pencil icon at the top right of the dropdown. This will open a pop-up window displaying all the users within your company that can be added to the project.
- Select the user(s) you would like to add to the project.
- Click the green check mark at the top right of the pop-up window.
- The user will receive an email indicating that they have been added to the project.
- Note: You can turn this invitation email off by unchecking the box at the bottom of the pop-up window.
